Removing the knockouts for the vent and electrical connection took more than ten minutes. The installation instructions leave a lot to be desired. How the two brackets are to be installed was a mystery. The cover for the electrical connections fit poorly, bent it getting it off and then was difficult to reinstall. I would not recommend this to anyone.

NO 10-minute Install as claimed

This took a lot longer than 10 minutes to install. Our home is 42 years old and the R-L guides supplied, when installed as directed, did not match up with the holes for supplied screws. We had to retro-fit to our slightly, 1/2" each side, smaller cabinet making a slightly bigger hole and washers to take up bigger hole space and self taping wood screws. A real pain. Otherwise, works great.

Works great, after difficult installation. Bought this hood because the box indicated a 10 minute installation. After reading ine instructions, and making sure we had all the required materials not supplied, we got to work. It did require an additional trip to Home Depot to get new duct connections. It truly was at least 3 hours. But, we got it done and it works great!

Well made product with one minor issue. The bulb provided with the unit is a very low wattage and does not illuminate the stove top adequately. Accessing the bulb to change to a higher wattage was a bit difficult.

Compared to my original base model in almond color, this model is tinny, hasn't got enough lighting for the top of the stove, has a high power speed of my original's low speed, and an even almost imperceptible low speed.

Doesn't draw air when set to recirculate

It looks good and is easy to install, but the suction when set to recirculate is not strong enough to pull grease through the filter. A lot of air is escaping from the bottom where the fan is located. It's like it's pulling air, but it's not getting out the top fast enough, so it's coming back out the sides. I really don't know what else to do about it other than replace it. My recommendation: keep the box after you install it for a week or two. You may need to send it back. I know I wish I had.

I guess for the price it does what I paid for. I was disapointed in the false statement that it's a one person job and only ten minutes to install. I had to have help and it took two hours.The fan kept hitting the filter mounting bracket & the fan is extremely loud. You get what you pay for.

The only disappointment I have with this GE Range Hood is that there is only 1 setting for the light. I would say the brightness of the light is between dim and bright. There is no way to adjust the brightness of the light. Other than this, I am very satisfied with the range hood.
