We like the stainless steel interior. It does a very good job at cleaning the dishes. Also does a better job at drying . Much better than our previous portable, and so much quieter. We are quite pleased with our purchase.

Worst dishwasher ever! It leaks out of the bottom, not a lot of room, does not dry dishes, not organized well for being so small which makes it difficult to get all the dishes done at one time. I have this installed in my daycare and it does not keep up. Some days I have to do 3 to 4 loads of dishes for just breakfast and lunch, then I have to set them out on the counter to dry. I have a family daycare so I am only feeding between 5-7 children at a time. I spend all day doing dishes. I wish I never would have purchased it and i have only used it for 4 weeks.

The specs for unit states that the hose stretches out 35 inches but it's actually 28 inches and does not reach my sink. It also does not set back in place. It also would be nice if you could see the timer, it's on the inside of the door with the control panel.

Capacity sucks! It™™s way shorter than my old one! You can™™t get a big fryer pan in there on side you must lay down. So takes up more room or less room for dishes. The silverware holder is little thank goodness I kept older one. The hook up hose is bent in there so bad it doesn™™t go back in the machine right. It sticks out! So can™™t push against wall. When you take hook up off spicket water runs everywhere! On the floor. This machine was not worth 900 dollars. Yes dishes are clean but to many things wrong to overlook. Guess stuck with it now!

We're trying to get used to using our new portable GE dishwasher, but it loads differently than we're used to (not really a problem) and we can't tell when it's finished because the Clean light is hidden when the door is closed. The dishes do come out really clean!

In my opinion, a better door design would be to have some type of light on the front of the door indicating end of washing plus drying cycles. With all controls only on the top of the door one finds it impossible to identify end of cycles.

It cleans well enough Afew things; crazy that the ™light™ cycle takes an hour (prev. washer 30 min) .
Utensil basket : handle broke w/in a few months. ™Jet Dry™ cover lock is showing signs that it will break (joint is weak) and I don™™t use jet dry but was checking it when washer received); looks like the same material for both, not very durable.. prev. washer of 30yrs, no broken plastic .. needed new one bec door hinge gave out). The config. of the tines and basket is not very efficient for maximizing capacity (very constricting). Keep it simple! A more open basket with simple placement of tines probs will allow user to accommodate all sorts of dish sizes. If the top basket had a shallow and deeper end, the bottom basket could accommodate a larger dish (underneath the shallow end of upper basket). This is what I loved of my old washer. Really clever design. Please reach out to me to arrange to have, at least to replace the utensil basket. I was sent an email to review washer, so please reach out to me about basket replacement. An update to this review will be posted. No pics bec. link to + pics not seem to be active

The dishwasher works great. a couple of things could be changed or tweeked. The utensil basket could have a better handle on it as mine has come apart when I pick it up to take it out of the dishwasher and the fill hose doesn't fit into the back of the dishwaser when you're done so it sort of just flops around on the back. Overall, not a bad dishwasher.

This dishwasher is REALLY REALLY bad. It works about 10% as good as my old dishwasher. Unfortuneatly, it was starting to fall apart, and would have cost about $600 to fix, compared to the $850 price of this one. The controls should be on the outside of machine, and not on top of the door. So far, when the wash cycle is done, and I leave it to dry for 2 hours, much of the dishes are still wet. That is rediculous. My old machine, when the cleaning cycle was done, I opened up the machine and drained the water off of the bottom of cups. Then, when the drying cycle was done, they were dry. The new machine, if I open the door it seems to reset the cycle to the beginning. Most of the cups and things don't get dry at all. According to the SMALL amount of directions that came with machine, it is supposed to be highly efficient. If I have to dry much of the dishes after the cycle is done, I'd much rather pay more for more electricity to dry it.

We have a GE portable dishwasher. It is a GE® ENERGY STAR® 24" Stainless Steel Interior Portable Dishwasher with Sanitize Cycle. We are EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED with it. We bought it at Home Depot on October 2nd. It has had issues since we got it. There is a squealing sound every time we use it. The dishes don™™t come out clean at all. After running the dishes the tupperware cracked. We put the tupperware on the top rack only. Easy™™s Appliance came out 3 times to try to get it to work and have replaced the control board and a fill valve. We have had to take time off from work to stay home so the repair guy could come. That costs us money each time. Even the repair guys are saying that GE makes subpar appliances. So far, this repair has worked but it took Easy™™s Appliance to come out 3 times and replace 2 parts and we have only had it for 3 months. At the very least, GE should compensate us for our time. This is absolutely ridiculous.

Because of the layout and size of my kitchen, I need a portable dishwasher. When my old machine started having problems, I went looking for a new one. This was the only brand our local appliance store had. It is very frustrating to use. The interior set up makes no sense whatsoever, Many of my dishes don't fit well. There isn't much room for glasses. I haven't even tried to load my dinner plates. If I had been able to see the inside before I bought it, I would not have taken it. Also the tubes that manage the water are stiff and hard to get out of their hole in the back of the machine.

I love the new dishwasher. It takes some getting used to as the racks are different than the old one, but it really gets the dishes clean. I don't know that I like the controls in the top of the door because you can't see how much time is remaining, but you can open the door and start again from where it left off.

This is a solid choice for a portable dishwasher. The capacity is fine, and the choice of cycles is adequate. The interior is good quality, and it is amazingly, surprisingly quiet. In fact, it took a few runs for me to realize that it was on and then I could stop checking to make sure!

Very easy to install. Can hold a lot of dishes for its size! We were even able to fit few larger pots/pans. Had to get a new faucet that had the capability to connect to the dishwasher but we knew beforehand that it would likely be necessary.

The portable dishwasher works fine but there is no way to tell when the dishwasher cycles are completed as there's not a digital readout on the front of the dishwasher like the built-ins. It would be great to have a digital readout so that you know when the dishwasher has completed cleaning the dishes. Currently everything's hidden under the lip of the top of the dishwasher. My sister has a similar GE built-in dishwasher that looks exactly like this one except it has a digital readout on the front of the dishwasher. Not sure why they made a decision not to put a digital readout on the dishwasher but this would be a nice feature to have especially when this dishwasher was more expensive to purchase than a built-in one.

I have been using this dishwasher for 5 months and have been very impressed. The auto sense function has been great for me and dishes have come out clean. I don't run everyday so I do do a quick rinse and I don't overfill the racks. If you have dirtier items do not stick them in the corners of the racks, the machine is a little less efficient in the corners. With it being portable you do have to check the filter more regularily. For the odd load that didnt come out clean once I cleaned the filter there was no issue. Its very easy to hook up and to roll in and out of place. Other user have complained of wheels, so far I have had no issues but I am careful to not lean on the machine or force the wheels over anything. Would recommend!

Literally exactly what you're looking for. If your faucet has an aerator, you can make it work. A bit weird for the control panel to be hidden, but it's a trade-off that makes it look sleek. Noise is average to me.

This dishwasher has been a disappointment to me. It is heavy and hard to move, the configuration of the racks is strange and I don't know how to change the time it runs. I plan to call the dealer to find out. It changed itself recently and now runs almost three hours.

Washes well; is relatively quiet; ls done in 1.5 hrs.; looks great. Flaw is hoses have no check valve or other means to keep them from leaking a lot of water onto the floor when unhooking. The instructions advise to hold them over a cup lower than the sink bottom when unhooking. Poor design. Last dishwasher did not have this as an issue.

Without a doubt this portable dishwasher is a horrible design. Controls are hidden, rack system doesn't hold a variety of dishes, containers, and pots/pans, and the silverware basket is woefully small, and the cycle runs much longer. GE's predecessor to this one was MUCH MUCH better in every regard, but parts were no longer available. If I could return this I would. To anyone reading this, stay away from this one, you'll be glad you did.

Gave this dishwasher a 2 as it does clean very well and is very quiet as you can not even tell that it is running. As for it saying that it is has a 24 inches inside well I don't know who measurements they were using because my 24 inches and their 24 inches are to different sizes. You can not get that much into it. My old had only an 18 inches inside and I could get a heck of a lot more inside that one then this one. Also, the silverware holder is so small and located in the wrong spot that any big utensils or if you have more than 5 plates then you have to wash them by hand, which then defeats the purpose of having a dishwasher. If I could of seen this inside of this dishwasher before I purchased it I would have never purchased it. Also, hate were the controls are located on the door too.

GE GPT225SGL2WW ™ A Complete Lemon. GE, Keep Your ™Courtesy Call.™
We purchased the GE GPT225SGL2WW (Serial #: FZ608523K) in February 2024 and it™™s been a disaster from day one.
The original unit couldn™™t even be used because the spigot that connects to the tap was defective. GE said the part wouldn™™t be available until September ™" for a brand new appliance. We pushed back, and they replaced it.
That replacement? It lasted less than 2 weeks before breaking down due to an internal fuse. We called for service ™" it was repaired. Three weeks later, it broke again ™" control panel issue. Another part had to be ordered. We waited weeks for another fix.
December rolls around: another failure. Another service call. Another technician visit. We were told, because of all the repeated issues, that GE would give us a 1-year warranty extension.
Fast forward to May 2025 ™" it breaks AGAIN. We try to book a service call and are told our warranty has ™expired.™ So much for standing by your word, GE.
We™™ve had:
1 useless unit right out of the box
4 major failures in the replacement
Weeks without a functioning dishwasher
And a ™courtesy service call™ GE can stick where the sun doesn™™t shine
Thankfully, I purchased an extended warranty through the store I bought it from ™" because if I had to rely on GE, I™™d be completely out of luck. And yes ™" because this unit has needed three or more repairs, it™™s officially considered a lemon under that policy.
I will continue to write reviews everywhere I can. People deserve to know that this product is unreliable, and GE™™s customer service is empty promises, broken systems, and zero accountability.
Avoid GE. Avoid this model. Save yourself the time, frustration, and rage.
